Here.
The new Florence and the Machine album comes out tomorrow, Ceremonials. Im so excited I could die, not literally, but I just really want to sneak out early tomorrow to get it and then not leave my house for the rest of the day.
Good records and maybe a Salted Caramel Mocha too.

sunday*swoons: beirut

Every year around this time I fall in love with Beirut all over again. I really don't know why it's this late fall pre holiday season time of year that makes me want to listen to them nonstop, but there ya have it.
If you haven't listened, do so here. You'll fall in love too. I know it.
My favorites are Postcards from Italy and A Sunday Smile.
Happy Sunday <3

five*things friday

It's been SO long since I've done one of these, but that might be a good thing! Id hate to pick five things just for the sake of doing a post!

Okay. Numero uno.
The new She&Him holiday album. WHAT!? So good. And yes. It's still October. Don't. Judge.
Two.
Paper Straws. Like these. I ordered gray ones for our Halloween party this weekend. And frankly, they make drinking anything more fun. I feel like every time I use one I might as well be in a fifties soda fountain commercial. Or something. :)
Three.
These super duper cute drawer pulls from, where else, Anthropologie. I need two more for my dresser makeover project and well shucks. These just might work. Along with the zinc letters *our initials* for over the dresser. And a teacup or two.....ahhh that store. Love it.
Four.
Honey Crisp apples. They've become quite the staple at our house.
And WHY are they so stinking expensive?! Can I get a Honey Crisp tree for my yard by chance?

Five
Sarah's shop. Each time she updates it I get a little twinge of excitement. That girl is taaaaaalented.

Happy Friday!!!!!!!!

party dresses and a pair of boots

I wanted to share two of my favorite things of late. Pretty dresses and rain boots.
This dress was a birthday gift from my momma that I wore the night of our third anniversary, just a little over a month ago. Obviously from my super dark hair and feather and the sunny skies.
Anyway. It's from Francesca's and it's just so cute. I love it.
AND IT HAS POCKETS.
ok Ill calm down. but that's super exciting. i can't help it.
The other thing I'm kinda in love with are these Hunter rain boots. Totally jumped on the Hunter bandwagon but I figured if you are gonna do it, do it right! And well, Ebay and I are pretty good friends, so they didn't completely break the bank.
I love that they are this pretty dark green color, perfect for fall or pairing with party dresses. Even when its not raining.
Which let's be real, isn't that often, here in Ohio.
This is by far one of my favorite photos of the year. Each anniversary, Tyler and I do a mini photo shoot of the two of us with my timer at the family farm. This place is where we got engaged, did our wedding photos and have numerous picnics during the year. It's very special to the two of us!
And it's also the only time I can get Tyler to play in front of the camera with me, so we take a lot of pictures. :)

What are you guys doing this Halloween weekend? We have our big Halloween costume party on Saturday night and a Haunted House adventure planned for Friday. Busy busy, but that's a good thing!
Have a fabulous day!

a kite flying kind of day

Sometimes spontaneous kite flying dates are a must. Especially when the weather is the perfect amount of windy and sunny, all at the same time. Husband loves his special sport kite, gifted from my parents for his birthday.....it's almost kind of deadly, it flies so fast! Miss Evie and I stayed a safe distance and cuddled instead.
Perfect. Day.

sunday.love

Browns game, fall leaves and wet grass, morning sunlight, kitteh wake up kisses
Sundays are my favorite day of the week. Tyler doesn't have to work *usually* and we can be lazy without feeling too guilty.
After a cah-razey wedding weekend of rehearsal dinners, dancing and photos we were more than fine with doing a whole lot of nothing on Sunday.
I didn't even wash my hair. Yep. There may have still been a rogue bobby pin or two in there somewhere.

I'm excited for the week, Halloween and a lot of fun family time.
Dare I say, I'm almost happy it's Monday?! :)

sunday*swoons: this time of year

The leaves this time of year are my absolute favorite. Beautifully changed and ready to fall in your path at any given moment. Just a few photos of the autumn prettiness in my little corner of the world. The red leaves with a tinge of yellow are my favorite!
We had a wedding this weekend for two dear friends of ours and it couldn't have been a better day. Gorgeous weather and the best dance party around! I think I may still be recovering, in fact.
Hope you had a pretty autumn weekend too!!!

a little home peek: getting ready for cold weather

One of the things I love best about my home is our mudroom. Both of our dogs sleep in there at night (which deters from disasters in the middle of the night) and it's the perfect place to keep our winter coats and boots!
When we moved in four years ago, I knew immediately what I wanted to do with this wall. I had already amassed quite the collection of wall hooks (and I still have more to put up) and thought what better way to display them than a wall of mismatched hooks?
To go with my mismatched kitchen cupboard knobs and mismatched drinking classes and the list goes on....
I've seen so much inspiration on Pinterest and in magazines for making an entry way or mudroom work for you and this is still a work in progress for sure...I'm always a fan of re-decorating!
I NEED BASKETS! Like really cool old wire baskets or something.
But for now, it's ready for the chilly weather.
My gloves and spare hats are in the basket on top of the bench, my scarves are in the bigger basket underneath. So when I'm running out the door (late as per usual) there is no reason to not have both.
I want to make one of these trays for our shoes also (gotta love Martha), especially for the husband's muddy boots. I hate having to mop up muddy boot prints everyday during the winter and since our garage isn't connected, this is where our snowy shoes end up!
Anyway, just thought I'd share what I spent my morning organizing! Well, not the whole morning....I did some laundry too. And we're getting a new bed *eeeiiiii* so I'm in charge of clearing out the bedroom and peeling off the old wallpaper FINALLY so we can paint before we move it in.
This is a big deal over here. Right now there is baseball wallpaper and a baseball ceiling fan from when we moved in still hanging out. I know.
Four years later and I can finally check this project off this list. Happiness. :)

fall crept in....

And I'm not sure how it happened. There are pumpkins everywhere....my house even smells like them, thanks to the yummy candles and hand soaps I found at Bath and Body Works last week. The pumpkins with the curvy stems are my favorite, they make me think of Tim Burton. And of course the white ones are cute too.
But it's okay. I think the pumpkins can stay awhile.
At least until it's time for the Christmas trees.
::yes, I just said that.::

Here's to a great week! Where has October gone?!!

sunday*swoons: hitchcock leading ladies

This time of year is perfect for watching scary movies. Which as a rule, I'm not usually a fan of (Paranormal Activity pretty much ruined that for me.....as did the Saw movies. And The Grudge.)
I don't know why I think I can handle them, but I can't so I need to just stop.

So instead, when Halloween gets closer, I turn on an Alfred Hitchcock classic. Scary, but not too much and classy leading ladies to boot.
Here are some of my favorites. I thank my mother for introducing these as a family tradition way long ago. She's so cool.
Rear Window. Grace Kelley. Here.
Vertigo. Kim Novak.  Here.
The Birds and Melanie Daniels. Also known as next years Halloween costume and my favorite scary movie. Here.
If you haven't seen any of these yet, you must!
I promise. They aren't too scary.
:)

hey guyyyyyyyyys.

It's Friday!!!!!
::woot::

Little bits of happy: The new Feist CD and these pretty trees on my street. Beauuutiful.
Two of my favorite outfits of the week. And for fall. Get ready to see them again next week too.
I love Fridays. The weekend always seems so long, stretched out in front of you. Not like Sundays when they are already over and only the week is stretching before you. The week and to do lists.
Any. Way.
Big news over here.
I gots my glasses. Finally.
Those suckers took a long time to come in, after being backordered twice! TWICE. But I've been so incredibly stuck on these frames I just couldn't even think about picking another pair. I mean when you know, you know, right? It's like the first pair of glasses I got in second grade. Pink. Confetti. Does it get any more cool than that? Nope.
Although waiting since August for them to get here was a bit ridiculous maybe.
Husband is a fan and I'm so glad because I kinda love em. I love that they are a little different *like me* and a little quirky *like me*. And I also love that when I came around the corner with them on his very first thought was "Oh. You are cute." Which is a big step up from the frames I wanted last year on Etsy....frames that he said he'd call me "Agnes" if I wore in public.
I get to wear these and still be Renée so we're both happy. :)
So there's that.
I have quite a few photo shoots to finish up for next week and a few this weekend to do....including one this evening at a football game. Perfect fall evening for a highschool game. I even got to bust out my new fingerless gloves just for the occasion. And my hat! Love my hats. Hopefully the rain stays away so everything can go as scheduled! I love this time of year for photos. The fall leaves are such a beautiful backdrop.

Annnd last but not least, a quote. Just because I haven't shared one in a while.
Happy Weekend!!!!!!!
loves, me.
