the good. the funny. the awesome

This pregnancy so far has been quite an adventure! Because all of this is entirely new to me, there have been a lot of unexpected surprises and ohmygoshes about the size of my growing belly....among other things. ;)

So far. It's pretty awesome.

The good stuff:

Baby heartbeats. Oh my.

Tyler referring to me in the plural. As in "Are you guys ready to go?" and finally catching on that he doesn't mean me and my dog.

Maxi dresses. They have multiplied in my closet in the last few weeks and will most likely continue to do so until November. They are a pregnant woman's dream come true.

Walking into Dunkin Donuts for a donut on National Donut Day last week and telling Tyler in my super secret spy voice that my pants were neither zipped nor buttoned! So proud he was! Off I went to get a Be-Band shortly after....that thing. It. Is. Amazing.

Getting whistled and honked at by a car full of teenage boys while walking my pregnant butt to get ice cream the other night. Yep. Still got it. :)

Knowing Baby can hear now....so I've got someone to listen to me ramble all day.

Buying baby clothes (gender neutral which of course means stripes) with Tyler. Oh how special that is!

FOOD! Ohhhh I snack all the time! On healthy stuff. But sometimes on a cookie or ice cream cone. All I crave are sweets and it's pretty great. Since I loved those already.

The hard stuff:

Having to pee. All. The. Freaking. Time. And then of course the nearest bathroom is miles and miles away. And there are stairs involved. ((Saturday night's graduation ceremony, two hours and four trips thankyouverymuch))

My belly itches. It's weird. But I splurged on this and all is well. For now.

BABY NAMES. They are so HARD. We've finally got a few good ones we agree on. But still. Difficult.

Mood swings. Within a matter of minutes. Poor Tyler! It's only happened a few times but man. I would've run for the hills.

Crazy dreams. I mean CRAZY. I can't even tell you. Sometimes sleeping is incredibly mentally exhausting.

And honestly those aren't even all that bad. More just funny if anything! Like I said....quite the adventure!!!

xoxo, R.

  1. Aw, you're being initiated into the club!! So funny getting whistled at when you're pregnant. I got whistled at by a guy when I was like eight months pregnant my first time... it was a little creepier :s

  5. Aww, you are so sweet about all these little things. It almost makes me forget why I so adamantly have decided Never Again. No, my pregnancies weren't bad at all, but it's those first few months that are hard. You dont' notice it much when you are in it because of the absolute wonder of holding your miracle, but boy will you be tired. So tired.

  8. Such a cute little bump! I'm so excited for you, it sounds like you are enjoying every minute of it!

The needing to pee all the time thing was so annoying! And now I am drinking tons of water because breastfeeding makes me super thirsty, so I am still going all the time, haha.
