camping out

Our camping adventure this weekend ended up being pretty much perfect! I was a little apprehensive about sleeping in a tent and being half a mile (sometimes it felt like miles) from the bathroom...but it worked out pretty darn well. My friend walked with me every time I had to go and never complained...she's a sweetheart:)

Tyler always ends up having to work right up until we leave so we didn't make it to the campsite until almost eight Friday night, but luckily we still had plenty of light to set up everything and get the fire going for dinner! I try not to be too sad about him having to work so much because I know it's all part of getting ready to run a family business....having days off for camping just isn't in the cards because he needs to be there. He left again super early the next morning, was at work most of Saturday and got back just in time for a late lunch and a few games of corn hole, thankfully! I spent most of Saturday playing cards with our friends and reading in the tent. Tent reading and tent napping are definitely on my list of favorite summer activities!

Saturday night we walked down to the ice cream social all together and by golly, they were making root beer floats!! I tell ya....someone must have told them I was coming!!! I was so excited since the popsicles I brought didn't make it over night in the cooler. Wishful thinking. :)

We made a yummy dinner on the grill Saturday night with chicken and cheesy potatoes and pasta salad and watermelon and it was quite delicious! Our friends taught us a new card game that was really fun and we played a board game or two as well. All in all, a pretty relaxing low key weekend that I think all of us needed very much. Yay for camping! :)
