fireworks.

Tyler and I played it smart this year and kept inside for the majority of yesterday, only venturing out for a quick lunch and stop at the hardware store. This heat wave is insane! Especially when I already feel like I've got my own personal oven running at all times. Thank goodness for air conditioning, I tell ya! 

We finally wandered out of the house after some serious tackling of boxes from the basement (an entire truckload of stuff to goodwill! so happy) to visit with the parents for a bit and have a quick dinner consisting of my very favorite fries and hamburgers and homemade lemonade. So good. 

Then we picked up our friends for a somewhat spontaneous trip to watch the downtown fireworks. We made it just in time to sit down, eat a few blueberries and see the show and then just in time to hop back in the car before the rain and lightning hit, home in time for another potty break. It was quite an adventure. Afterwards Tyler told me he was worried the whole time that the fireworks were too loud for the baby.....how cute is that? I said if Baby can handle my singing in the car, a few fireworks really aren't all that bad. :)
